I grew up and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1998.  I then went on to DMACC where I earned my AA and graduated in 2000.   I went on to attend the University of Northern Iowa from 2000-2003 with an Elementary Education degree and a minor in Mathematics.  I then took over for my 8th grade math teacher in Knoxville upon graduating from Northern Iowa.  I coached 7th grade volleyball for 13 years, 7th grade boys basketball for 8 years, 8th grade girls basketball for 1 year, freshman girls basketball for 3 years, middle school baseball for 12 years, freshman baseball for 1 year, and varsity girls’ tennis for 10 years.

In 2014 my wife, LaRae, and I moved to Carlisle as she worked in Des Moines and we were expecting our first child.  This made the commute for both of us equal in distance so that we could spend more time as a family.  Our first daughter, Raylyn, was born on April 21, 2014.  Our second child, Adylyn, was born on Sept. 26, 2015.  I was hired to teach in Carlisle in May of 2016.  We are very excited to be a part of the Carlisle Community and have our children go through such a great school system.
