Mrs. Marne Sievers
|Preschool Teacher, Carlisle Elementary School
E-Mail Me @ firstname.lastname@example.orgI have been an Iowa girl all my life, as I was born in Britt, also known for Hobo Days. I grew up in Crystal Lake, population around 230. Crystal Lake is home of the “World’s Largest Bullhead” and is located in north central Iowa in Hancock County. My parents still live in Crystal Lake where my mom works for Chrysalis in Forest City in the transportation department and my dad is retired from Winnebago. After high school, I attended college at UNI. While there, I was a resident assistant for two years in Lawther Hall. I was also involved in other groups while there. Darren, my husband, and I met our sophomore year in personal wellness class.
Darren and I moved to Carlisle when I was hired by Carlisle Schools. We have four children. Megan is a sixth grader and Riley is a second grader. Tyson and Dylan, our twin sons, are deceased.
How did I become a teacher? First of all, many people in my family are teachers. I have pretty much always known that I wanted to be a teacher. What I taught had been a riddle at times. When I was finishing my senior year in high school, I had it in my mind that I was going to teach high school biology. Mrs. Hines, the business and technology teacher at W-CL, told me I needed to go into early childhood and that is how I ended up here. I am so glad she said that to me as I thoroughly enjoy what I do. Each day is definitely different!
