Amy Tilton - 5th Grade
Hello! I'm Mrs. Tilton and I teach 5th grade! I absolutely love teaching at Hartford and welcoming students into the Tilton family. I love building relationships with students and families that go past the walls of our classroom. My goal is to build a positive learning environment that is safe for students to take risks, learn from their mistakes, grow and continue to move forward with a growth mindset. I love supporting students in building a passion for reading and learning!
2024-2025 will be my seventh year with my own classroom. Prior to that I worked as an associate and substitute in our district since 2012 while completing my K-6 Elementary Education degree from the University of Northern Iowa. I am a torn Panther/Cyclone as I graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor's of Animal Science from Iowa State. After having children of my own and working in the school I was determined to follow my dream of going back to school and having a classroom of my own!
When I am not teaching, you will most likely find me with family or at a ball field somewhere. My husband Keith and I live just outside Carlisle with our 3 sons (Logan, Travis and Tyler) and they keep us very busy with sports and camping! I also love animals and enjoy spending time reading a good book whenever I have the chance! I feel truly blessed to live and work in a community I love, with the absolute best colleagues around.
I look forward to seeing you in 5th grade!
