About Ms. Michael

Hello! My name is Ms. Michael and I teach 6th and 7th grade science at Carlisle Middle School. I am entering my third year of teaching during the 2024-2025 school year and I couldn’t be more excited!

I grew up in the Des Moines Area and graduated from Southeast Polk High School. I continued my education at Drake University where I received a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a Minor in Biology. Prior to teaching I spent almost 7 years working for a local non-profit and providing adaptive sports and recreational opportunities for kids and adults with special needs. In the Fall of 2020 I went back to earn my Master of Arts in Teaching from Drake University and began my first year teaching in the classroom during the 22-23 school year.

When I am not at school I enjoy going to the gym, kayaking, cycling, and traveling to National Parks with my fiance. I also spend lots of time with my pup Phoebe.
