Welcome to the Carlisle K-12 ELL (English Language Learner) page!

I came to ELL late in my teaching career.  I started out teaching high school language arts, but became interested in the area of ELL when a brother and sister from Laos started at my school.  They were the first ELLs my school had ever had! This experience resulted in my earning a K-12 ELL endorsement. I have now found my way to Carlisle after teaching adult ELL for Kirkwood Community College and Des Moines Area Community College.  I live in Carlisle with my husband, daughter, and pets!

 

I enjoy learning about the cultures and languages of my students!  I also enjoy seeing my students become more confident and capable as they work with our wonderful staff and students.
