Mrs. Kapusinski- K-3 Reading Interventionist
Hello! I am Kristin Kapusinski, better known as "Mrs. Kap." I am one of the two reading interventionists here at Carlisle Elementary. I provide reading support to students. I serve students in kindergarten through third grade in a small group setting, both in and out of the classroom. My main goal is to help students LOVE reading and build essential reading skills to be successful!
This will be my fifth year as a reading interventionist and my thirteenth year teaching. I previously taught first grade for seven years and then one year of second grade all here in Carlisle. I graduated from Central College with a bachelor's degree in education, a reading endorsement, a coaching authorization and a minor in Spanish. I completed my Master's degree in education from Viterbo University in 2010. Teaching and working with kids has always been my passion!
In my free time, I love to spend time with my family. I have a seven year old son named Cade and a five year old daughter named Lena. They are very active, and it’s been fun watching them grow and now be students here at the elementary too! My husband is also a teacher. He teaches math at Southeast Polk High School. We are proud to call Carlisle our home! Some of my favorite things to do are: playing and watching sports, being outside, shopping and playing really any type of game. I am a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, so you'll see (and hear me) cheering for them all fall! Go Cowboys!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my site. I've included some great resources that might help you and your child with reading. Of course, if you have any questions, feel free to email me at: [email protected] or contact the elementary office at: 515-989-0339
