Mrs. Clark's First Grade Class

Hello! My name is Allie Clark and I am a 1st grade teacher at Carlisle Elementary. The 2021-2022 school year will be my 10th year teaching at Carlisle. I taught kindergarten for 4 years, and 1st grade for 6. My heart is in 1st grade! I love teaching first grade because it is amazing to see the tremendous growth that occurs throughout the year. I have a passion for teaching students how to read. My number one goal each year is to make readers out of my students and help them to find the love of reading. My favorite children's author is Mo Willems--we love Elephant and Piggie in 1st grade! I am looking forward to another great year!

 

I grew up in Monticello, Iowa but my husband and I now call Carlisle home. We have a 5 year old, Sullivan, who is attending kindergarten in Carlisle this year! I am so excited to have him at school with me. We also have a 2.5 year old, Sonder. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa (Go Panthers!) with degrees in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, and have endorsements in Literacy and Special Education. In my free time I'm hanging out with my kiddos going on bike rides, playing baseball, visiting parks, and nonstop pretendng! I enjoy traveling with my husband, reading as much as I can, and enjoying the many events and activities Des Moines has to offer.
