Joshua Baxter - High School Alternative Services Teacher
Hello, Wildcats! I am a very passionate educator that has dedicated life to helping students see their true potential. I have been teaching for 19 years. After finishing my bachelor's degree at Northwest Missouri State University, I taught for two years in Madrid, Iowa. I was honored to join the Carlisle High School staff in 2007. I spent the next eight years teaching special education and moved to alternative services in 2015. This move allowed me to work with more students in more ways. I earned my Master's of Arts in Education degree in At-Risk Alternative Education during the summer of 2023.
I am a super proud father of three amazing young people. They all attend, or attended, the Carlisle schools and are earning a great education. My wife, Brandy Baxter, is a fifth grade teacher in our district, also.
In my time away from school, I still want to work with youth. I am a high school baseball umpire with eleven state tournament appearances (5 championship games), a high school football official, and a high school basketball player. I like to stay very busy!
